Cold Spring School seeks to develop in children a love of language, literature, and writing in the broadest sense possible. Students are exposed to numerous styles of poetry across the grade levels. At Cold Spring, children develop an understanding and appreciation for poetry through listening, reading out loud and exploring different poetic styles through their own written creations. Haiku, Cinquain, Free Verse, Diamante, Sonnet and Rhymes are poetry forms students will encounter over their years as CSS students.
