The Institute for Educational Innovation is a non-profit organization located in Fair Haven, a neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. Established in 1991 as the program development and training arm of the independent Preschool–6 Cold Spring School, the Institute supports educational change through various approaches, including:

• Facilitating connections among schools, government, and community
  
• Implementing projects that enhance children's thinking processes
  
• Creating interdisciplinary projects that promote academic success
  
• Maintaining a demonstration school that represents an effective learning environment
  
• Developing and testing new methods and tools that advance the principles of progressive education
  
• Providing professional training for educators
